So happy and amazed - I went to the Chanel Fashion show at the Grand Palais (where else?!), and it was absolutely packed! I managed to see Courtney Love, and then after waiting near backstage, spoke (yes, SPOKE) to Karlie Kloss!! (A model, who I've just discovered, it YOUNGER than me - I feel so OLD!!!) Then I waited for FOUR HOURS, watching them pack down and load up the set (there were FOUNTAINS) into vans, load all the clothes on rails into vans... to FINALLY meet Karl Lagerfeld. The King of Chanel.
It was amazing! He has this 'bubble' of calmness and serenity around him - he never looks rushed or stressed. Just calmly walking around, doing his 'stuff'. And you feel it in his presence too! When he came out, it all felt like slow-motion, and thankfully my finger hadn't gone into shock so was rapidly clicking the shutter button to take photos. It was amazing. So worth it!
THE Karl Lagerfeld, and the beautiful Karlie Kloss :) I felt a total dwarf next to her - she's 5'11! (and only 17!)
And even if you're not a fashion fan, PLEASE just watch 60 seconds of a Chanel catwalk video held at the Grand Palais, just o get a glimpse of the interior which is absolutely PHENOMENAL. The whole show is down to perfection - some people having interviews were saying how it was done with the upmost precision, and perfect to every tiny detail, and everything 'as one' - nothing stuck out, the clothes, the music, the atmosphere all combined into one whole thing. Absolutely phenomenal.
