It was quite slow going, and to start with, I had a few old men sifting through my jewellery! It was very cold, but luckily it didn't rain! My electricals were very successful - funnily enough, the ONLY people interested in my PINK mini fridge were all guys, and one soon bought it. Women were interested in clothes, and a few large-footed ladies went mad over my shoes. I even had an Asian couple buy literally HALF my stall!!! The husband just kept on holding all the jewellery items up to his wife, she'd nod, and he'd add it to the pile! In the end they took the whole jewellery box!! :)
The market is even a good place for dating... if you're interest in old toothless guys with a heavy Birmingham accent who hand you their number in case you 'want to meet up for a drink'. Hmm, I think the recycling bin would appreciate it more!
My stalls definitely attracted most people, as (here's a TIP!) the more things you have, the bigger range, the more people are interested. And it was very colourful and well arranged - clothes neatly laid out, books together, shoes lined up etc. On the way home I stopped off by Oxfam with a bag of clothes leftover and some books.
Earnings to date:
Car Boot: £84
Ebay: £60
Selling my car radio to my brother: £25
Musicmagpie.co.uk (selling CDs and DVDs online): £15
So NOW, I can actually WALK into my room without tripping over anything! :)
OH-MY-GOD Official Fact: Car-booting is really successful. And incredible. The more crap you have, the more money you make!
