J'aime Mes Amies!

The last few days have been nice, catching up with old friends before I go! Lucy gave me a gorgeous necklace with an eiffel tower (very appropriate!) and it was exciting to catch up with Rosie over a very UN-chocolatey Hot Chocolate, who helped my decide that I SHOULD invest in a good camera for my trip.

My aunt suggested I should buy presents for the family. So I've been racking my brains trying to figure out WHAT DO YOU BUY A FAMILY YOU'VE NEVER MET. Probably won't even understand, or be able to talk to for the first two weeks. Hmm. Anyway, I've come up with pretty good ideas I think... For the parents, something very traditionally-English, such as TEA (Fortnum & Masons), or Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Soap possibly. Then, I had a brainwave and remembered being totally obsessed with CHARM BRACELETS when I was 13! So, just so I'm fair and equal to the three girls, I could buy those bracelets from Claire's Accessories - ones where you can choose your own charms which clip on - and buy them a charm each with the first letter of their name. Too personal? Or just right?

Top tip: SKYPE! It's free, you don't have a cringey msn-name/address, and the most random people have it, including my family!! Who'd have thought?!

My eBay items are selling really well - the Karen Millen dress I put on yesterday for 99p has already got 2 bids! I've got a lot of interest on my camera (old, and not suitable for Paris!) and bids on my other items. No one wants my cross-trainer though... Any takers??

I bought a really good Cook Book today - Fay's Family Food - as I'll be making meals for the girls. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0718154606/sr=8-1/qid=1283510556/ref=olp_product_details it's got really good, easy recipes, and doesn't focus TOO much around meat (I'm veggie... NOT a favourite of the French!). There's lots of colour, photos and the layout is simple. I also filled out an application form for the Distant Learning Course - they're sending me a huge file containing all the work to do. I'm quite excited about it! It'll give me something to else to do in France, and it'll be easier to learn and revise my French A-Level as I'll be surrounded by French speaking!
