Packing.

So...

My room is pretty much packed up into boxes, and 3 of them (plus 2 huge bin liners) are for the car boot sale on Saturday [Note to self: Set alarm for 5.30am. Eeek!] I've also put some more items (a camera and a Karen Millen dress on eBay) AND I've also cancelled my gym membership. It's been quite a productive day! I CAN SEE MY CARPET!!!

I had a Topshop spree yesterday, for new clothes to take, and had a really successful session! I bought a load of clothes which are SO versatile and mix-and-match, including some really cute denim shorts, a t-shirt, a dress (for Parisian Nightlife!) and THIS SKIRT. www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay - it's truly ingenious! It's really stretchy, and the elastic is woven, so you could have it high-waist or round the hips, you can stretch it into a long high-waist pencil skirt down to the knees, or have it as a tiny bandeau skirt that barely covers your knickers. It's amazing, AND it's black so it goes with everything. Top Tip: Versatile clothing. The solution to packing lightly!

I also bought a GOD-SEND of a book: www.amazon.co.uk/Frommers-Paris-Free-Dirt-Cheap/dp/0470683325/ref=sr_1_1 which lists (in categories) loads of good places to go in Paris, from vintage shops in Le Marais, to 'Le Pain Quotidien' - a vegetarian and health food cafe, and roller-blading rinks to Bee Keeping Classes (Bahaha!). It has some information about them (i.e. if students wouldn't be seen dead in them), and contact details and address. This will be really useful, as I need ways of meeting new people and discovering a different culture and life!

ALSO, that Distance Learning Course I was talking about? I got a starter pack today, and basically, it's a French A-Level! SO, I could re-sit my whole French A-Level (which let me down slightly in August) whilst in France, within the year! I am so happy! It works like an Open University Degree Course, except it's GCSE or A-Level (depending on the course level you want to take) . It means I don't have to come back from France early to re-sit my exams. A life-saver.

What else did I do today? I started packing. My suitcase turns out to be rather small! What DO you take on a year abroad??? I know I can buy more things in Paris, but I want the shoes I've got now! This is going to be such a hard task. I may just leave it until next Friday. Meanwhile, I have the mission of moving 2 large packing boxes, 2 bin liners and a folding paste-table down a flight of stairs and into my tiny car for Saturday's Car Boot Sale. Wish me luck!
