The goodness inside triumphed.

I succumbed and ended up making a Victoria Sponge and two trays of Rice Crispie cakes. How lovely am I! I even made the cake 'kiddy appealing' by topping it with icing and smarties. Sounds like it's gunna be a riot of a party this evening... maybe I should have added a splash of vodka into the cake to get them going! (Ha!)

Due to the fact that this kitchen is only equipped with two very shallow tins for cooking, it seems that all my cakes are just going to be slithers of oblong-shaped cake. I have worked out a solution though, purely by making the Victoria Sponge, in making two sponge oblongs, and then 'glueing' them together. 

 

I can't believe it's FINALLY the weekend. However, now it's wet, rainy, and I'm too exhausted to actually do anything. Pass me the matchsticks to pin my eyes open please!

On another note, I have been doing so much reading this week! - Partly because I actually remembered to bring books with me this time from England, but *ahhh* it's just so relaxing, and total 'me' time. Feel free to send out any chick-lits to me! :P
